What We Do
SPANA has been providing services through two fixed clinics, one in Wadi Al – Seer Weastern Amman, and the other one is in Deir Alla in the Jordan Valley. There are also three veterinary mobile clinics providing services to the local farmers in the villages far from the fixed clinics. We treated 30,894 animals during 2006. Every day our clinics travel over difficult terrains. The mobile clinics stop at remote villages and camps to give free treatment to animals who normally have no veterinary care at all. Simply put, without the treatments our
mobile clinics provide, many animals would suffer needlessly – and some would die. Most of the animals we treat are depended upon by their owners to make a living carrying water or heavy loads to and from the market or ploughing their fields. But with hard labour, animals become exhausted and often get injured from their punishing routines. During our rounds, travelling from village to village, more and more people turn up at our clinics with animals which urgently need treatment.
